Message from the Management
We aim to increase the competitiveness of SMEs as well as the added value created in our region and contribute to the socio-economic development level of the region in the medium term with the project.
“Establishment of Common Use Ateliers in TRB2 Region” Project, which is financed by the European Union and the Republic of Türkiye within the framework of financial cooperation, and of which Eastern Anatolia Development Agency is the end beneficiary, is supported within the scope of the Competitive Sectors Program carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Within the scope of the project, three ateliers were established in Erciş Small Scale Industrial Estate, Bitlis Organized Industrial Zone and Muş Organized Industrial Zone to provide services in the automotive, metal processing and carpentry/furniture sectors. Each of the ateliers, which were completed and equipped with machinery/equipment within the scope of the project with a budget of approximately EUR 9.3 million, has a closed area of 1900 m2 , including 1250 m2 production area and 650 m2 administrative area.
The ateliers, which contain machines that the producers in the region cannot procure with their own capital, provide non-profit services to SMEs in the regional provinces as well as SMEs in neighbouring provinces.
In addition, within the scope of the technical assistance component of the project, analysis and research were conducted in the provinces of the region and partially in neighbouring provinces, and many trainings were provided to entrepreneurs, producers and technical staff to increase institutional capacity, from marketing to design, on-the-job training to occupational health and safety, quality management to accounting.
In order to ensure the sustainability of the project, which brings together the public and private sectors and aims to reduce the current production costs of SMEs and expand their production capacity and product range, the ownership and support of the producers to the ateliers is needed. In addition, the cooperation of all relevant public and private sectors in the region, especially Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Union of Chambers of Tradesmen and Craftsmen, Organised Industrial Zones, Small Scale Industrial Estates, universities, NGOs and producers, is important for the project to achieve its goals and to implement similar projects that are needed.
